Patience My Darling….
I was sitting in my car driving to school the other morning and I was getting caught up in everything around me. School is going to end in about 4 days so that was on my mind along with other things such as the Passport Immersion program, what I'm going to do this summer, even just thinking about what my future holds. I was behind a car that was driving extremely slow and I started to get frustrated. Thats when I felt this phrase placed upon my heart… "Patience My Darling." WHOA!! This sort of took me off guard, like what does this really mean? So I pursued this saying. This is sort of something that I kind of came up with on what this phrase means to me.
SLOW DOWN… focus on ME not on things/plans/your future… etc.
Take one day at a time; don't try to rush ahead.
My timing is not known by you.
Every day is important to me.
Keep your focus on the present, don't try to focus far into the future.
It takes time for Me to reveal my plans for you.
Today we are all caught up in the rush of things. Everything has to be speedy because we like to keep on going without having to wait for anything. We are always thinking ahead… trying to get to the next day to see whatever adventure that day holds. Also sometimes our minds are elsewhere/thinking about other things and we aren't truly there all the time throughout the day. We don't like to wait for things, we want what we want now.
I know that everyday has a purpose. Every place I go; Every thing that I do. I just need to be patient and let God reveal himself through these things that I am doing everyday.
"The times we find ourselves having to wait on others may be perfect opportunities to train ourselves to wait on the Lord." (Joni Eareckson Tada)
"Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret -it leads only to evil. For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land." (Psalm 37:7-9)
"Be JOYFUL in HOPE, PATIENT in AFFLICTION, and FAITHFUL in PRAYER." (Romans 12:12)
Dear Beckah…
You are well on the way to a more enjoyable, peaceful and meaningful life….and a deeper and richer relationship with God.
We live in a culture and society with microwaves and fast food, instant messaging and Urgent Care clinics, etc. These things can be good at times, but we can get addicted to the “RUSH” mentality. That is not good. By using all of these conveniences, we can cram a lot into our schedules…and become too busy. We can crowd God and eternal things out of our lives. We need to slow down and have “quiet times” in our lives to be able to hear God’s “still small voice.”
1Kings 19:11-13
The Christian life is a marathon, not a sprint. Slow and steady is more important than speed. We need to pace ourselves on this journey of life. Our existence on this Earth is more about our process/experience of walking with God…than it is about our accomplishments.
God wants you…more than He wants your “good works.” He wants your love. He wants you to walk with Him and to fellowship with Him….both now and for all of eternity.
1 John 1:4-7
Keep your attention focused on the Lord…and on His Word. Do whatever He tells you…and you will live out God’s perfect plan for your life. You will experience the ultimate that life can offer you…a life lived with God!
Psalm 32:8; 199:105 and Isaiah 26:3-4
You are in our prayers. It is exciting to see God at work in your life.

Scriptures referenced above:
I Kings 19:11-13
And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD.
And, behold, the LORD passed by, and
a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and
brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD;
but the LORD was not in the wind:
and after the wind an earthquake;
but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
And after the earthquake a fire;
but the LORD was not in the fire:
and after the fire a still small voice.
And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and
went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave.
And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said,
What doest thou here, Elijah?
1 John 1:4-7
And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you,
that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness,
we lie, and do not the truth:
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light,
we have fellowship one with another, and
the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Psalm 32:8
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
Psalm 119:105
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Isaiah 26:3-4
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee:
because he trusteth in thee.
Trust ye in the LORD for ever:
for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
