Going to training camp was probably the biggest leap into the unknown I've ever taken. The first night I had to face one of my fears, which was sleeping in a little 2-man tent in the rain. I learned that this was just a small start to the week considering the fact that I was going to face every single fear I had about camp and leave all comfort zones behind me. God showed me that in order to break every chain and share His glory to the world I have to get uncomfortable. If I sit back all comfy and cozy I won't ever grow in my faith and be able to show people what God has done in my life. I can't fit every single little thing that has happened this week in this post. But all you need to know is that if you are willing to answer that call and go out into the Nations to spread the Love of Jesus it will break you down to nothing... but in an extremely good way! When you are broken down to nothing is when He comes to you and holds your hand and says "I'm with you, let me fill your every being and make you new!" This past week I've slept in a damp tent, I've experienced eating many new foods, and learned that sometimes things sound better than they taste. I've stretched my athletic abilities. I've pushed so many "cant’s" away and God started turning them into "cans'." I'm still not sure that I'm quite ready for this missions trip, but everyday that it comes closer God is preparing me more and more!
I found out that I'm going to Nicaragua, the Philippines, and Kenya.
This week I also found out who I will be spending the next 9 months with. We travel as a big squad of 23 but then we break down into smaller groups of 5 or 6 people. In my group there are 3 guys and 2 other girls. We had to come up with a name that we wanted our team to go by. I said the first thing that came to my mind and it was "HOPE." We all agreed that it sounded like a good name... TEAM HOPE. But I think deep down some of us thought that the name should have a bigger meaning. But later that night I was just walking around by myself and I saw this purple hair tie lying on this wall. I leaned down to pick it up and there was this bead type thing on it and it said HOPE! I was like whoa this is God showing us that even though our team name isn't extremely different and even though its simple its the right name for us!
My Team (:
Bracelet I found that says"HOPE"
